Love the iPhone and iPod Touch but scared that you’ll drop and crack the screen? Us, too. We protect ours with Idox 360. It works as a to-go case and the perfect flying companion.

Gadling

The idox hard case is as brilliant as it is simplistic. When closed, it is a really sturdy hard case for your device, and when you open it, it turns into an angled viewing base. This is of course perfect for watching a movie, or using your iPhone as an alarm clock. It provides the kind of protection you need for your iPhone or iPod touch when you pop it in your bag.

PCMag.com also included the idox Traveler Series in its article, “Last Minute Tech Stocking Stuffers” but you don’t have to wait – you can get yours now! Doesn’t it feel good to plan ahead?

Win an idox Traveler Case!

Friday, July 30th, 2010

It’s always exciting when we see bloggers share positive feedback about the idox Traveler Series with their readers. In this case, Ally from The Mommy Diaries isn’t just sharing her great review – she also has four iPod Nano idox cases to give away!

Here is part of the hands-on review from The Mommy Diaries:
What I really love about the case is how it turns into a stand. I’ve used it in the office to listen to music. My daughter watches her videos on it. It helps keep her hands away from the screen. It’s also pretty light, so doesn’t add too much weight. And it looks like it can survive a few drops.

Two of the cases will be given away during Blogmania, and there’s still time to enter!

Try and win an iPod Nano idox Traveler by following the directions seen on her post: http://budurl.com/MommyDiaries

Good luck!

idox - iPhone Black closed

The idox Traveler Series is made of ABS grade plastic; tough and rigid enough to withstand drops and tumbles. When the case is closed, it protects the whole iPhone, including the screen, from scratches and dents.

The idox Traveler Series is especially great for traveling—just flip it open for an iPhone stand to hold your iPhone as a GPS system on roadtrips, or view videos and pictures during long flights.

idox Be Jammin’

We love our iPods too, but this editor REALLY loves his iPod Touch – to the point where he claims he would propose marriage if he could!

It’s a good thing he found the idox Traveler Series case. We don’t want to see how depressed he would be if anything bad ever happened to his Touch!

Check out what Michael at The Cleveland Scene as to say about the idox:

I love my iPod Touch. If I were allowed to marry it, I would. Seriously. But I hate looking at videos on it since my hand cramps after holding it a few minutes. This cool new gadget keeps your Touch, Nano or iPhone upright and stationary so you can watch Lord of the Rings without feeling like you spent three hours in hand-to-hand combat with Dark Lord Sauron.

If you love your iPod or iPhone as much as him – better get an idox Traveler Series case ASAP!

idox is Mom-Blogger Approved!

Friday, July 9th, 2010

You know the phrase, “Mother always said…”? Well, in this case, mother is saying that the idox Traveler Series case rocks! We have had a lot of “mommy-bloggers” try out the idox and let us know how handy it is – entertain kids on the go, catch up on your favorite TV shows and protect your device when you toss it in your purse!

Here are just a few things these real-life moms had to say about idox on their sites:

Susan Heim on Parenting:

How often have you used your iPod or iPhone to entertain the kids? Most of us have. And if you’re planning to do some travel this summer, you’re even more likely to make use of these devices to stave off boredom. A company called idox now makes it easier to travel with your 4th and 5th generation iPod Nano, the iPod Touch, and the iPhone 3G and 3GS thanks to their Traveler cases!

These cases are really unique because not only do they protect your device, but they also enable you to keep it stationary and upright, so you can more easily enjoy games, apps, videos and more while you’re on-the-go. Your iPhone can become a bedside travel clock when you’re sleeping away from home!

We received an idox Traveler case for my husband’s iPhone, and it was extremely easy to use. The phone just popped into place, and it was a breeze to set up. All of the buttons on the phone were still reachable for easy access to all of the apps.

MomCentral – The DeBroff DeBrief:

Before recently, it has been a pain to care for my iPhone while using it for entertainment and work during travel. Fortunately, I have been given a great opportunity to try the idox, a new case and stand made to protect your iPhone or iPod while traveling….

This proves something every mom could bring into play as children become restless on long rides. As much as you want to make use of your iPhone or iPod to amuse your child, it’s nerve-racking to trust them to not damage such an expensive device. The idox can provide you a little less madness and a lot more protection.

While staying at a hotel, I used the idox to turn my phone into an alarm clock. When I woke up in the middle of the night, instead of searching for my phone on the nightstand and holding it up in front of me, I merely turned and tapped my phone that was already standing on the idox. What’s perfect about the idox is that it is what it is. There is nothing complicated about its functions; you simply clip in your phone, snap it shut, or rotate it to become a stand and you are literally set for takeoff.

The Office: idox Traveler Series Edition

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

Who hasn’t watched “The Office?” The NBC mockumentary has become a must-watch show on big screen TVs and laptops throughout the country. It seems that everyone loves watching the exploits of characters like Michael, Dwight and Pam at their paper supply company in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

The Office Cast

The immense popularity of the show inspired us to give you a few ways to turn your desk or office into one like the tv show! Using only your iPhone or iPod and your idox Traveler Series case and stand, you can bring “The Office’s” quirks right to your own desk.

The Office Quirk #1—Dwight’s Bobbleheads

Currently, Dwight has 4 bobbleheads on his desk in Scranton. You’re probably especially familiar with the bobblehead of himself featured in the opening credits. Now, using your idox Traveler series stand and the Bobblehead App, you can add your own, personalized bobbleheads to your desk!

The Office Quirk #2—Michael’s Union Jack Flag

Since the original tv series, The Office, was made in the UK, Manager Michael Scott has a Union Jack Flag on his desk. It’s a small way the show pays homage to the original series. Watch your very own Union Jack sway in the office breeze with Union Jack for iPhone. Set your flag in your idox Traveler Series case and place it on your desk to see how many co-workers will attempt a British accent.

The Office Quirk #3—Jim & Pam

The Office characters Jim and Pam are easily one of America’s favorite couples. Fans of the show followed their relationship from an office romance, to a wedding at Niagara Falls and then witnessed the birth of their first child. While the idox Traveler Series can’t turn you and a co-worker into the next Jim & Pam, ladies, it can hold your boyfriend for you. Create your own office romance with the Virtual Boyfriend app. Choose your own boyfriend, or turn your real one into an avatar, and prop him up on your desk to keep you company all day long.

There are a plethora of other apps based on “The Office,”— from quizzes to a “That’s What She Said” button. We’re just wondering if the folks at the Scranton Office would be interested in expanding from paper sales into, say, travel-friendly iPod and iPhone cases

idox, LLC—Our Story

Thursday, June 17th, 2010

idox, LLC, distributes the idox Traveler Series internationally through our headquarters here in Madison, Wisconsin. The Travelers Series, a hard case and stand, is specially designed for using your iPod or iPhone while traveling.

Here’s how we got started:

idox founder Vic Mohoney, like any dad, grew tired of his kids dropping and breaking their iPods. With each new iPod purchase, he grew more and more frustrated as he stared at the retail wall of iPod cases.  The cases did not protect the iPod or the iPod’s glass screen from breaking when dropped.

Then Vic noticed something else. While traveling on a long distance flight overseas, he grew tired of holding his iPhone while watching a movie.  Looking around he noticed other travelers were also awkwarldy holding their iPhones and iPods while watch videos or listening to music.

He started to sketch an iPod case design on an airline napkin– a case that would both protect the iPhone and iPod for his kids and provide a stand to watch videos during flights.

From that napkin sketch, the idox Traveler Series was born.

Vic continued to design more and more case solutions.  He started prototypes in his workshop—the first idox Traveler prototype was actually made of wood.  As he refined his designs, he developed a portfolio of designs in plastic prototypes. Then, in the summer of 2009, the idox Traveler Series became a reality.

The patented idox Traveler Series, made of ABS grade plastic, has been on the market for a year now and has seen plenty of media coverage. From the cover of  Skymall Magazine to a feature in Macworld—editors, reviewers and customers like what they see. You may have caught us in a few inflight publications, like Hemispheres and myMidwest. (Seen Below)

You, too, can become part of the idox crew. Head over to the idox store to buy your own idox Traveler Series case before your next flight. Currently the idox Traveler Series is available in platinum, black and pink for the iPhone 3G and 3GS, iPod touch (2nd or 3rd generation) or iPod nano (4th or 5th generation).
